Police action in the event of socio-natural and technological disasters: proposal for officer formation

Abstract

The overall objective of this article is to propose an instrument for the formation of the police officer in reference to his performance in cases of socio-natural and technological disasters. Accordingly, in this intervention and police response in disaster zones it described. Also, the need for a tool to help in the training of staff is established. Whereupon, creating a professional development course which is called “Policing Course if socionatural and technological disasters” is proposed. As for the methodology section is descriptive documentary. This instrument some conclusions were obtained: knowledge of the official Venezuelan police about his role in disaster scenarios is limited which affects their response to extreme situations and becomes part of the problem, therefore, it is necessary to train him about it.
