Theoretical Reflections of the Old Regime : Power and Symbols

Abstract

This research provides a definition and understanding of the Spanish society of old regime, in particular the Spanish society. They highlight its values , symbolic practices and the network of power that supported and how that system is moved from the peninsula to America, triggering a political culture that legitimizes and symbolically mean relationships, positions on specific and social power that the colony will keep and will be redefined during the formation of the republic in Venezuela.
