The municipal cronist: universal history to local stories

Abstract

This paper aims to present the figure of the municipal chronicler in the context of today’s society. At the level of Latin America, the chroniclers’ presence dates back the period of the Spanish conquest in terms of history in the New World as their presence dates back to the first empire established in human society. A conceptual aspect is developed on the lines of time and at the same time chronicling Indies contrasts with the current Latin American chronic and generally the styles and completely different themes, in relation to the ancient chronicles. In addition, the position initially had a very distinguished rank and even in Spain who chairs the Spanish Writers Association, is the king. In Venezuela very, few are certain at least of what is a chronicler, what their functions, their presence is unnoticed as a public function.
