Abstract

This research aims to establish the relationship between the concepts of tourism and public policy case: Casco Central Maracaibo. The methodology used was a descriptive field of documentary, using the technique of critical analysis of the sources, citing Torres (2004) for the analysis of the concept of tourism. authors like Maggiolo (2007) and Fayos Sola (2004) for analysis and construction of the concept of public policy is also cited. Resulted in the political game must evaluate and consider the daily factor for building an effective public policy. It was concluded that the importance of public policies for proper social development of tourism is greater than it normally generates economically. National, regional and local authorities play a key role in policy making and in the organization and development of tourism.
