Development of ecological mentality from the teaching of geography

Abstract

Planet Earth is currently going through a critical situation for life, resulting from inappropriate use of natural resources; which it has caused irreversible environmental degradation. In this situation, education plays a fundamental role in the formation of individuals. However, currently education is directed essentially intellectual content and technical skills. Therefore it is essential to stimulate an ecological mindset, taking advantage of the development of curricular materials. Which may constitute an important contribution to the training of young people? This research aims to design a training program of an ecological mindset, methodological support corresponds to a projective research; where the attitude of the subjects and their relationship to the environment
was analyzed, using a Lickert-type scale; in order to suggest educational activities that allow the development of this mentality.
