Theory and practice relation in the generation of knowledge And learning from geography: an epistemological approach
Keywords:
Theory, Practice, GeographyAbstract
This article presents a bibliographic review focused on analyzing the theory and practice relationship in the generation of socio-spatial geographic knowledge, in the college context. The article was structured in three notions: theoretical, practical and geographical - epistemic. From the analysis carried out, it is emphasized that, for geography, the theory is an abstract thought, detached from the reality and interest of society in relation to the problems to be solved and, the practice, is a system of actions through which it is altered the course of events of reality, based on the desire to propose solutions to socio-spatial problems. Finally, it is concluded that geography has as object the recognition of space; therefore, it is a social science of relations, analysis, synthesis and interpretation, from geohistory. Therefore, learning must be based on the generation of contextualized constructs that allow reflection and explanation of the relationship between society and nature.
