The poetry of Ana Enriqueta Terán is varied, fertile and multiform. From the perspective of the poetics of the elements conceived by Gastón Bachelard, it can be affirmed that this poetry participates in both water, air, fire and earth. However, there seems to be a
preference of Terán for the air, which becomes a symbol of great weight to build what we define the cosmos of the heights. In this paper we propose to reveal some of those features of the aerial imagination present in Terán's poems, which have the mission of giving consolation and hope in conflictive situations. Blue skies, birds that plan it, trees that grow to touch the sky, all are in short images that fulfill the euphemic function proposed by G. Durand to shield the soul against desperate sadness.
