Towards an awareness of difference from the context of universities. Decolonial and intercultural processes in Latin America

Abstract

The current educational references of the society of power, mediated, dependent on technology and massifying imposed colonial knowledge, show the crisis of values ??that is manifested in the daily life of educational coexistence, with references  as   exclusive and catalysts of violence as bullying. or bullying, armed attacks on schools and universities, scenes of school fights and death. It is necessary and urgent to create an awareness of the difference that allows breaking with the individualistic and reproducing schemes of violence that are present in current education. Raising awareness of difference is embracing interculturality in education, it is promoting new educational subjectivities that bring us closer to the other, that allow us to recognize ourselves in the particular and diverse. They are education and Universities in their intercultural and decolonial praxis, paths towards the encounter of that more humane, just, liberating and peaceful society.
