Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to analyze the History of the social implications of landslides in Trujillo. The descriptive methodology, with documentary design (Montero and Hochman (2005) and analysis of historical sources. The collection of information through documentary review techniques, recorded in files; as an instrument a matrix of analysis. Among the results it was found that in the earthquake In 1674, it destroyed the economic bases and opulence that characterized colonial Trujillo.Another strong earthquake developed in the year 1775, which destroyed the main communication routes of the population, causing destruction in the Monasteries of San Jacinto, San Lázaro and the Mother Church of the capital of the province, as reflected by Bishop Mariano Martí in his visit report of the year 1777. It is important to also mention the earthquake of 1886, where many affected families had to live fearfully in improvised awnings, in the town called the Other Band, currently that sector is called Santa Rosa. It is concluded that these telluric movers left an imb imprint orrable in the memory of the trujillanos.
