Keywords:
Bolívar, Maracaibo, Historical memoryAbstract
Part of the notes of this essay, come from letters and vicissitudes of the time, Maracaibo, for the Liberator was extremely important, both in political strategy and in opportunities to maximize forces and complete the project of emancipation. This essay, among other historical reasons, allows us to highlight aspects that many historians have not revealed, the special interest that Bolívar had on Maracaibo, the correlate leaves for granted the historical importance that the contributions of his letters deserve. It is necessary to emphasize that historical knowledge is also found in epistles that research is then in charge of interpreting until it becomes a legacy of the peoples as collective memory.
