Representative Image Formation of Collective Memory of a People Under the Artistic Perspective of Arturo Michelena

Abstract

The artistic production of Arturo Michelena, marks a reference as to the building of national identity, as well as to the formation of the collective memory of the Venezuelan,in this sense, the present investigation is the starting point of further works related to the theme, which we observed with alarm is unknown in the country, despite the importance of this artist not only in XIX century. The validity of the works is claimed  not by the events to which they refer, not by what they are in themselves. These works reflect not only the time and why becomes visual evidence of their particular way ofassuming the art being at the same time clear mediation of his personality. These are identified with their time, also become relevant conciliation to access a world with a heritage and aesthetic significance.
